Bacha Entrepreneurship Project 2025 Kicks Off: Empowering Lesotho’s Youth Through Business
Today marks the official launch and call for proposals of Bacha Entrepreneurship Project (BEP) 2025, a collaborative initiative between Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO), Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL), and Standard Lesotho Bank (SLB), dedicated to empowering Lesotho's unemployed youth to become entrepreneurs and job creators.
Since its inception in 2014, the project has invested over M10 million, supported 33 youth-led businesses, and created 184 employment opportunities, a testament to the power of entrepreneurship in driving sustainable development and economic growth.
In his remarks, RSL Head Strategic Partnerships & Public Relations, Mr. Pheello Mphana reinforced his organisation's commitment to nurturing innovation and business growth as a vital path to increased national revenue and prosperity.
The SLB Marketing Manager for Communications and Sponsorships, Mr. Manyathela Kheleli highlighted that BEP continues to play a pivotal role in driving positive change and creating opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The launch was also addressed by BEDCO Senior Manager Public Relations, Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder Relations, Ms. ‘Mamahapela Mokuoane who shared the inspiring journey behind the formation of this impactful partnership,
Aspiring youth between the ages of 21-35 should sent their proposals for BEP to bacha@bedco.org.ls by the 24th July 2025.
