Commissioner General initiates ‘Koots’ for Cadet Program

The Commissioner General of Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL), Mrs. Mathabo Mokoko, led a ceremonial fire-lighting event last night at Makoanyane Barracks. The fire is used to heat water in a large pot known as a ‘Koots,’ which is expected to be used by participants of the ongoing RSL Cadet training program at the barracks.

The initiation of the ‘Koots’ is a longstanding tradition at Makoanyane Barracks for all training cohorts. This practice is intended to symbolize light, and to promote a spirit of unity, collaboration, and sharing among the participants.
