RSL Hosts New BAL Chairperson

Commissioner General Mrs. Mathabo Mokoko welcomed the new Chairperson of the Bankers Association of Lesotho (BAL), Mr. Nkau Matete, during an introductory meeting held yesterday at the Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) Head Office.

The meeting was also attended by the BAL Secretary, Ms. ‘Mamoabi Ralebitso and RSL Executive Management. Discussions focused on potential regulatory changes concerning Common Monetary Area (CMA) cross-border collections (debit orders) carried out by South African insurance companies.

The parties also explored current and potential areas of collaboration between the BAL and RSL. Additionally, the meeting highlighted opportunities to strengthen the relationship between the banking sector and RSL in its role as the national tax revenue regulator.
