RSL & Bankers Association of Lesotho pen a joint Memorandum of Cooperation
Today, 8th September 2025, Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) and the Bankers Association of Lesotho (BAL) signed a historic Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the two organisations that represent key sectors of Lesotho’s economy and financial landscape. The MOC was signed by the Commissioner General, Mrs. Mathabo Mokoko for the RSL and BAL Chairman and Managing Director of Nedbank Lesotho, Mr. Nkau Matete.
The main objectives of the Memorandum of Cooperation are to: strengthen institutional cooperation between RSL and the banking services sector; to address regulatory and operational developments impacting both sectors; to promote joint initiatives in digital transformation, cyber, data sharing, and economic resilience.
The MOC also seeks to enhance tax compliance and transparency through financial system interventions; and to contribute to broader national, regional, and international financial integration and reforms.
The event was also attended by other BAL representatives, namely the Managing Director of Lesotho Post Bank, Mr. Mokhachane Mopeli, First National Bank Lesotho Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. Delekazi Mokebe and Standard Lesotho Bank CEO Mr. Samuel Seboka. The Commissioner General of RSL and the principals of the four commercial banks in Lesotho that forms BAL membership were also accompanied by their executive teams.
