RSL Hosts National Tax Literacy Workshops for the 2025 Filing Season
Maseru, May 2025 – Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL), in collaboration with the Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA), is currently conducting a nationwide series of tax literacy workshops aimed at empowering taxpayers across various sectors with up-to-date information on tax compliance.
These workshops form part of RSL’s annual Filing Season Campaign and commenced on 28th April 2025, running through to 8th May 2025 in the Maseru district. Sessions have been held in all districts of Lesotho, targeting taxpayers from key economic sectors such as hospitality, construction, commercial farming, retail and wholesale, residential and commercial property, professional services, and other service providers including security, catering, and car rentals in March 2025.
The tax filing season, which runs annually from 1st April to 30th June, requires all taxpayers including individuals, small businesses, and corporations to file their income tax returns and settle any taxes due. These workshops are designed to simplify the filing and payment process, ensuring full compliance with Lesotho’s tax laws.
In addition to guiding taxpayers on how to accurately complete their Income Tax Return Forms, the sessions also introduce more convenient and flexible electronic filing options. This initiative reflects RSL’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of voluntary compliance, by equipping Basotho with the practical knowledge needed to manage their tax obligations confidently and accurately.
Furthermore, the workshops provide practical training on basic financial record-keeping, presented by the Lesotho Institute of Accountants, and introduce participants to RSL’s expanding suite of digital services. These include:
Online Tax Clearance Certificates
C2 General
VAT 11 Certificates
Electronic Tax Registration
E-filing
E-Payment Platforms
Through these efforts, RSL continues to support a more informed and tax-compliant nation.
