RSL welcomes Task Team for Intra-SACU Trade Data Audit

Today, Acting Commissioner General of Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL), Mr. Rakokoana Makoa welcomed the Task Team from the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) for the 2026 Intra-SACU Trade Data Audit.

The world's oldest functioning customs union conducts the audits on biennial basis to assess compliance with the SACU Data Integrity Minimum Standards, strengthen the integrity, accuracy and reliability of Member States trade data. The audit includes an analysis of intra-SACU trade data to assess the consistency, completeness, and comparability of data submitted by Member States for the determination of revenue shares.

The SACU secretariat mission comprised Data Analyst, Dr. Katiso Ramalebo, Tariff Board Coordinator and Risk Manager, Mr. Thuto Mathetsa and Customs Specialist, Dr. Abel Mboweni.
